5 days Agadir Birding tour to Atlantic & Guelmim desert

Day 1: Tamri Estuary – Agadir – Cap Rhir – Agadir

The day before the trip begins, we pick you up from the Agadir airport or meet you at your hotel. Accommodations may be arranged the day before the birding trip begins; just get in touch with us. Our Moroccan birdwatching trip begins with a drive north, where we stop at a beach to see Lesser Black-backed, Audouin’s, and Yellow-legged gulls. From there, we go to Tamri to explore the coast for Northern Bald Ibis. After that, we take you to a nearby hotel in Agadir for supper and lodging.

Day 2: Oued Souss – Agadir – Oued Massa – Agadir

We will be seeing the following species today after breakfast as we tour the well-known Oued Massa on the Atlantic coast: the elusive Black-crowned Tchagra, the Moroccan Cormorant, the Moussier’s Redstart, the Marbled Duck, the Stone Curlew, the Laughing Dove, and the Brown-throated Martin. You will proceed to the Oued Souss, an ideal habitat for shorebirds, terns, roosting gulls, and flamingos. Then, we take you to your hotel so you may have supper.

Day 3: Immouzzer – Agadir & Paradise Valley – Agadir

Today, we go northeast in the direction of Paradise Valley and visit the well-known Immouzzer region. Blue rock Thrush, Crag Martin, Black Wheatear, Bonelli’s Eagle, Barbary Partridge, Black Redstart, and Little Swift are the birds we will be focusing for. After that, we transport you back to Agadir in the afternoon so you may have supper and stay at a nearby hotel.

Day 4: Guelmim, Morocco’s Southern Desert

We tour the desert today, which is close to Guelmim and is known as the “Gateway to the Moroccan Sahara.” Before we visit the Sahara desert, we will make a stop in the Anti-Atlas Mountains to witness Rock Buntings. Among the prickly pears, we could see Spanish Sparrows, Fulvous Babblers, and White-crowned Wheatears. We will search the rocky area for Thick-billed and Bar-tailed Larks, and we will attempt to see Red-rumped Wheatears. We stay at a nearby hotel in Guelmim for supper and lodging.

Day 5: Agadir – Guelmim

Hopefully, several desert species such as the Cream-colored Courser, Greater Hoopoe Lark, Long-legged Buzzard, and Greater and Lesser Short-toed Larks on the cultivated plains may be seen when we travel the Tan-Tan route after breakfast today. In the rocky desert, we could see Temminck’s Lark, Bar-tailed Lark, and Scrub and Spectacled Warblers. We could locate Trumpeter Finch in the oasis after lunch. Afterward, we go back to Agadir and spend the night at a nearby hotel, complete with supper.
