An Overview of Morocco’s 10 day itinerary destinations 

Casablanca is the first city you’ll see on our 10-day Morocco itinerary:

Casablanca is Morocco’s most prosperous city. Our Casablanca desert adventures begin here. As a result, it is the first city on our Morocco itinerary for 10 days. 

To begin with, Casablanca is home to Africa’s second-largest mosque. The Hassan II Mosque is roughly 210 meters long and is Morocco’s only mosque that visitors may enter and explore. Not to mention the 7th, which boasts the world’s largest minaret and was erected by King Hassan II. 

Casablanca is also known for its magnificent coastline, Ain Diab, which is a tourist destination with restaurants and local cafés. It’s also where you can enjoy the air and the sunset. 

Our 10-day vacation from Casablanca will take you to the cultural, Fes: 

Fes is a worthwhile destination with a plethora of cultural activities to enjoy. Fes is an important Moroccan city; it was the country’s first capital before Marrakech, Meknes, and Rabat. It is now one of Morocco’s four ancient imperial cities. I should add that the Idrisid dynasty constructed this city in 789. Fes has a lot to offer in terms of travel. Fes is divided into three sections: the contemporary portion, the Mellah, and the ancient part, also known as Fes El Bali. The most popular is the old portion, which has tourist attractions such as: 

The Blue Gate, Bab Boujloud: 

The principal gate or entry to the ancient medina is via the Boujloud gate. It was elegantly created in 1913 and appreciated for photography. However, there are ten more gates to pass through. 

Madrasa Attarine:

A Madrasa is a school that was founded in 1323 by the Marinid ruler Uthman II Abu Said. Because there is a souq, or market for spices nearby, the name Attarine originates from the spice traders. It is close to the mosque and the university of Al Qarawiyyin. In terms of design, it is also seen as one of the most important and best works of Marinid architecture. 

In 1351, the Marinid monarch of Morocco, Abu Inan Faris, established this madrasa. It’s almost identical to the Madrassa of Attarine. 

The Al Qarawiyyin University:

This is a must-see site; it was originally erected as a mosque in 859 by a lady named Fatima El Fihri. Then it was converted into a university, becoming the world’s first and oldest institution still in operation. It is even older than the Alma Mater Studiorum in Bologna, Italy. However, you may discover on the internet that Alma is older; this is because Qarawiyyin was formerly a mosque. 

The Chouara tannery:

In Fes, there are three primary tanneries where leather is produced. The Chouara tannery, on the other hand, is the best, most visited, and biggest. It was built in the 11th century, and it is where villagers dye skins by walking on them barefoot in pits. 

The King’s Palace:

Fes is a fortunate city in that King Mohammed V constructed two palaces here. Not to mention that he has roughly 12 of them scattered over Morocco. One of these two is called El Mellah. It is built well and has seven golden gates. It is near the Jewish neighborhood. 

Merzouga is the centerpiece of our Morocco itinerary’s 10-day journey from Casablanca to: 

Merzouga, Morocco’s Sahara desert. This little hamlet is the greatest and most memorable part of our 10-day Morocco travel plan from Casablanca. Expect a lot of events and things to do here. 

To begin with, the major pastime here is riding camels through the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. You may also arrange a camel circuit for a few days and experience Touareg life. 

Second, the majority of visitors that go camel trekking in Merzouga do so in order to spend the night in Berber tents. You may experience the lifestyle of the people that wander across the Sahara in their tents all the time. 

Third, for a full day in the Merzouga desert, the Srij lake is a must-see. It is where you will discover camels herding and emigrant flamingos. 

Fourth, for music aficionados, we propose Khamlia’s large village. The Gnaoua people may be seen here playing krakebs and drums here.

The Todgha and Dades gorges are worth seeing as part of our 10-day Morocco itinerary:

The canyons of Todgha Gorges are one of the most amazing things to visit on our Morocco 10-day travel plan. These canyons are around 300 meters tall, with a river passing in between. Furthermore, the water that is flowing there is so forceful that it has found its way across the rocks and does not normally dry out. Furthermore, several individuals who like climbing and trekking visit to have picnics. 

The Dades Gorges, located between Marrakech and the Merzouga Sahara desert, are well worth a visit. As a result, since the travel between the two cities takes more than 7 hours, some visitors stop here for the night. This area is well-known for its canyons, and some of the mountains are formed like monkey toes. There are also renowned curves called Tissdrine, where a Cadillac advertisement was shot. 

Ouarzazate, Africa’s Ouallywood: 

Ouarzazate is the Sahara’s gateway; it is made up of two words: ouar, which means “outside,” and Zazate, which means “noise.” This city is well known for its film studios. As a result, it’s an attraction you’ll discover on our 10-day Morocco travel plan. 

All of our Casablanca trips include travel via Ouarzazate. You may purchase a ticket to see the Atlas film studio here. It’s where several of the movies were shot. For example, they filmed a scene from the iconic film Lawrence of Arabia. 

Also, Ouarzazate is known for the Kasbah of Taourirt, which was built by Glaoui Thami in the 19th century. 

Furthermore, since Ouarzazate sits on the Sahara side, the sun shines so brightly that it reaches 48 °C in the summer. As a result, the Moroccan government has built Africa’s largest solar power plant here. Furthermore, the station is roughly 10 kilometers from the town of Ouarzazate. 

Ait Benhaddou’s Kasbah: 

Morocco has a large number of kasbahs. The greatest and most frequented kasbah is still Ait Benhaddou. Touring In Morocco, a 10-day journey from Casablanca to several kasbahs is available. Ait Benhaddou, on the other hand, is free of charge. The kasbah’s original name is Kasab, which means bamboo in Arabic or Berber, and the kasbah’s proofs are made of bamboo. You may also hear the phrase Ksar, which is normally inscribed on the signs of Ait Benhaddou. This is incorrect since a Ksar is not the same as a Kasbah, and a Ksar is usually Arabic and may also refer to a palace. 

The Kasbah is a worthwhile climb; you’ll see that buildings may also be maintained using clay and straw. You will also see the Touarges’ modest cottages, where they used to trade slats of mascara, cabbage, and other things. I should add that the individuals that come here to trade are Berbers from South Africa, such as Tombouctou. I’m not sure whether you’ve heard about Tombouctou 52 days. That is, people used to travel 52 days from various southern African nations to Morocco to trade in Rissani, Ait Benhaddou, Marrakech, and other locations. Of course, they continue their journey throughout Europe. 

The Kasbah has two primary entrances, one of which is to bridge the Oued El Maleh river. The salty river, in other words, refers to the touaregs who used to trade salt on it. 

Most significantly, the Kasbah is an ideal location for filming. As a result, several notable films were filmed here. In 1962, they appeared in the British-American drama Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. As a result, many visitors come here and book Morocco tours to view the place. 

Marrakech is a must-see city on our 10-day journey from Casablanca. 

Marrakech is the most popular tourist destination. As a result, it is also known as the tourist city and the red city due to its hue. This large city is one of Morocco’s imperial cities; it served as the country’s capital before Meknes and Rabat, and again after Fes. Yusuf ibn Tashfin also established the city in 1062. There is a lot to see and do here. 

First and foremost, Marrakech is recognized for its Jemaa el-Fnaa plaza. From the 11th, you may find snake charmers and individuals doing “street performance” here. As it is the city’s market or souk, you may also find individuals selling various items. 

Second, not far from the Jemaa el-Fnaa plaza is the mosque of Koutoubia. It’s also known as Kutubiyya, and it’s the biggest mosque in Marrakech, with a minaret that stands at 773 meters. Non-Muslims, on the other hand, are not permitted to enter. Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca is the only one that allows it. 

Third, for those who like art, there is a lovely garden named Majorelle in Marrakech’s new Gueliz neighborhood. John Jacques Majorelle has created an art gallery dedicated to Morocco, namely Marrakech. Also, keep in mind that this garden took this French artist roughly 40 years to create. 

Fourth, as previously said, the monarch owns 12 palaces, one of which is located in Marrakech and is well worth seeing. In addition, there is the Bahia Palace, which was erected in the 1860s by Grand Vizier Si Moussa. His son Abu Ahmed, on the other hand, has finished establishing it since it was not completed. 

Moroccan Modagor Essaouira, or Mogador, is Morocco’s wind city. This lovely, tiny town is roughly 190 kilometers from Marrakech. People come here to eat the fish and rest on the beach. There are several activities available here. 

To begin with, the city features a historic Medina with small streets and locals that reside there. In addition, since the city is on the coast, it boasts a lovely port that is worth seeing.
