Our Moroccan birdwatching trip begins with a drive up to the High Atlas Mountains, where we will view a variety of species, including the unique Levaillant’s Green Woodpecker, the Sardinian Warbler, Moroccan Magpie, Moussier’s Redstart, Little Owl, and House Bunting with Blue Rock Thrush. We will keep an eye out for the Atlas Horned Lark, Black Wheatear, Crimson-winged Finch, Rock Sparrow, and Alpine Chough once we get at the Oukaimeden ski resort. We’ll stay at the nearby hotel and eat supper there.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Boumalne Dades – High Atlas Mountains
We depart for Marrakech today, then head back upwards over the Tizi-n-Tichka pass to Ouarzazate, where we explore the Atlas highlands and look for Tristram’s Warbler, Long-legged Buzzard, and Bonelli’s Eagle. To go to Boumalne Dades, we keep going via Skoura and the Valley of Roses. We may spot Black-winged Stilts, Ruddy Shelduck, Marbled Duck, Maghreb Lark, Cormorants, and Herons along the route. Spend the night and supper in a nearby riad or hotel in Boumalne Dades.
Â
Day 3: Ouarzazate – Dades – Tagdilt – Skoura
Today, we explore one of Morocco’s best birdwatching locations by heading to the Tagdilt Track before dawn. Thekla Lark, Temminck’s Lark, Short-toed Lark, Red-rumped Wheatear, Desert Wheatear, Maghreb Wheatear, Trumpeter Finch, Cream-colored Courser, and itinerant Thick-billed Lark are among the birds we could be fortunate enough to witness. We will proceed to the Dades Gorges with the breeds of Tristram’s Warbler and Bonelli’s Eagle. After that, we drive you to Ouarzazate where you will have supper and stay in a nearby hotel.
Day 4: Taroudant – Agadir – Ouarzazate – Anti Atlas Mountains – Souss Valley
We cross the Anti Atlas mountains and enter the Souss Valley today. We’ll witness a variety of wheatears and larks. We could spot Spanish Sparrow, Laughing Dove, Cirl Bunting, and Black-crowned Tchagra, particularly in the Souss Valley. When we arrive at Taroudant City, we could spot Pallid and Little Swifts. We travel to Agadir and check into a nearby hotel for supper.
Day 5: Tamri Estuary – Cap Rhir – Agadir
We will make a quick stop at a beach early today to observe Audouin’s Gulls, a few Yellow-legged Gulls, and Lesser Black-backed Gulls of two races. After that, we go on to Cap Rhir where shearwaters and skuas are waiting for us to go sea watching. We’ll travel to Tamri in the north and search the seashore for Northern Bald Ibis. We return to your Agadir hotel for supper in the afternoon.
Day 6: Souss – Oued Massa
The elusive Black-crowned Tchagra, Marbled Duck, Moussier’s Redstart, Sardinian Warbler, Little Owl, Glossy Ibis, Stone Curlew, Laughing Dove, and Brown-throated Martin are among the species we want to see today as we explore the well-known Oued Massa on the Atlantic Coast.
